Tip of the Month: Self-Management
Time-management is really about self-management. Time passes if we want it to or not. It really cannot be managed, but you can manage yourself!
You may already know what you need to do to reach your goals, but feel that you are just too busy with the day-to-day operations to work on your goals. But, how can you ever reach your goals if you aren't working towards them?
You must self-manage!
Your goals can be broken down into steps. For example, I know an athlete who gets very nervous and anxious before every event, but for her, having a routine broken down into small steps helps her get mentally and physically prepared for competition. Every small step is manageable, and leads her towards her overall goal.
Determine how much time you have to commit towards your goals each day, if it is 15 minutes, 30 minutes or 2 hours. In the time you have, take at least one step towards your goal every day. This month make the commitment of doing at least one small thing everyday towards your end goal.
